42. Dennis Rader: The BTK Killer Part 1
Thursday Jan 28, 2021
Thursday Jan 28, 2021
Grab your glass and get cozy, let's talk about murder!
In this episode we start the deep dive into the murderous monster that is Dennis Rader, also known as The BTK Killer.
Dennis Rader was a master at compartmentalizing. It is hard to believe that one person can be such a loving and caring family man on the outside, but on the inside, have the desire and the ability to bind, torture, and kill 10 innocent victims.
Everyone in the community knew him as a father, husband, church leader, cub scout leader, outdoorsman, and hard worker. What they didn’t know was that he was also the prolific serial killer that horrified Kansans and stumped Wichita Police for 30 years.
Join us as we discuss Dennis Rader’s early life and his horrible deeds, with a focus on his first 7 victims.
Make sure to check out our socials and add to the conversation. As always, answer our questions at the end and we might read your response on next week's show!

36. The Bizarre Murder of Karla Brown
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Thursday Dec 10, 2020
Grab your glass and get cozy, let's talk about murder!
In this episode we will be taking a deep dive into the brutal and bizarre murder of the 'All-American Girl', Karla Brown.
Karla was excited to start the next chapter in her life. She had just gotten engaged to her high-school sweetheart and they were moving into their new home. Unfortunately though, her new beginnings had a quick and bitter end. She was murdered before the couple had even spent their first night in their new home.
Not only was her murder shocking, but they way her body was posed was even more disturbing. This did, however, provide great insight as to what happened to this beautiful young woman on June 20, 1978 in Lima, Ohio.
Join us as we discuss the chaotic crime scene, multiple autopsies, controversial evidence, and the FBI's behavioral profile that helped investigators capture the killer.

Thursday Nov 19, 2020
Thursday Nov 19, 2020
Grab your glass and get cozy, let's talk about murder!
In this episode we will be taking a deep dive into the case of the Trailside Killer, who was responsible for ten murders from 1979-1981.
Preying on vulnerable hikers in the San Francisco area, Carpenter used the secluded and heavily wooded trails to his advantage. Although he was becoming quite proficient in his murders, the blitz-style attacks told FBI's John Douglas a lot about who the UNSUB was. From there, he was able to provide a detailed and accurate profile that helped catch the killer.
Join us as we discuss the murders, the profile, the killers childhood, early crimes, and his sentencing.

We are jumping back into the East Coast vs West Coast rap war of the 1990's
After Tupac was murdered in Las Vegas, The Notorious B.I.G. was determined to end the war that they had originally started. Biggie was unable to accomplish that, however, as he was shot dead while in Los Angeles, much like the attack on Tupac.
In this episode, we learn about Biggie's life, his death, and the investigation into his murder, which uncovered one of the largest police scandal's in US history.

Grab your glass and get cozy, let's talk about murder!
The murders of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. are not only complicated and fascinating, but they also happen to be Michelle's favourite unsolved cases.
In the early 1990's, there was a war brewing between rappers of the east coast and the west.
Tupac Shukar and The Notorious B.I.G., both destined for greatness, wind up in the middle of it all and are shot dead. The crimes took place at different times and in different cities, but the two men were killed in the same fashion.
Join us in Part 1, as we dive into Tupac's origins, his run in's with the law, his deal with the devil, and his death.

Thursday Sep 03, 2020
Thursday Sep 03, 2020
Grab your glass (& a box of tissues) and get cozy, let’s talk about murder!
In this special mini episode, we dive into the horrific story of the Oklahoma City bombing.
I know, I know, we said we weren't going to be doing mini episodes anymore but this story is directly related to the Waco case so we had to tell it! On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh parked a rented vehicle full of explosives in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in downtown Oklahoma City. His goal was to make the ATF and the FBI feel the same way as those that lost loved ones in Ruby Ridge and in the Waco siege.
What resulted was the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in U.S. history. 168 lives were lost, including 19 children, and several hundred more were injured. Warning: you will likely feel extreme rage during this episode and we wouldn't be surprised if you cried in the end, we sure did!

Finally! Part 3 of the Waco Tragedy series! At this point, this case has basically become an obsession for Terra. With so many sides of the story to consider, it's hard not to get wrapped up in it all.
In this episode, we will dive into the final attack that the FBI created in order to end the 51 day siege with the Branch Davidian cult. Surprise! It doesn't go well. With a combination of CS gas and military equipment, the assault they made on this religious community resulted in the deaths of 75 people.
